Reman Service Technician - Mechanic Non‑Exempt – Hourly Position Reports to Reman Manager Summary/ObjectiveUnder limited supervision, the reman technician position performs technically challenging work in the repair of Ponsse machine components; performs related work as assigned.

- Knowledge and ability to evaluate, tear down, rebuild, and test Ponsse components, including but not limited to:
- Engines
- Rotators
- Saw tensioners
- Transfer boxes
- Splitter boxes
- Differentials
- Slewing motors
- Cylinders
- DAFO systems
- SKF Grease systems
- Preheaters
- Disassemble machine components orderly manner and catalog the disassembled parts
- Assist or lead with cleaning of component parts
- Disassemble and rebuild components using service manual guidelines and procedures
- Basic understanding of SIS, IFS, and other software programs as needed
- Enroll in training opportunities as they are available and relevant

The Reman Technician has limited supervisory responsibilities.
Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
PositionType/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full‑time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
TravelThis position requires minimal travel.
Required Education And ExperienceTwo-year degree in heavy equipment technician program or three years of experience and/or training in heavy equipment repair and maintenance shop or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Language Skills- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
- Speak English fluently.
