Job DescriptionBlock Island School seeks a dedicated High School Social Studies Teacher to join our small K–12 learning community. This is a one-year position. Responsibilities include teaching high school social studies courses (e.g., U.S. History, World History, Civics), planning standards-aligned instruction, differentiating for diverse learners, and collaborating with colleagues and families.
Qualifications:
RI Social Studies (7–12) certification or eligibility Bachelor's degree required;
Master's preferred Strong instructional and classroom management skills Ability to thrive in a small, collaborative school setting Position Type:

Block Island is a small island located approximately 12 miles off the southern coast of Rhode Island. Our school district is comprised of one school. The Block Island School houses grades K-12 and has a student population of approximately 123 students. Block Island is accessible by boat or plane. Full-time employees must live on the island during the school year/week because of the limited ferry schedule.
