Academic Advisor; College of Engineering

University of Rhode Island is hiring an Academic Advisor (College of Engineering). The role involves providing academic advising to undergraduate engineering students, facilitating timely degree completion, maintaining knowledge of curriculum and policies, and collaborating with faculty and the Dean's Office.

• Provide academic counsel to undergraduate engineering students and assist with degree progress.
• Conduct proactive outreach and participate in academic reviews regarding scholastic standing.
• Evaluate transfer transcripts and advise on major changes.
• Certify students for graduation and coordinate college and residence hall events.
• Collaborate with the Center for Career and Experiential Education on career-related information.
• Maintain statistical data and participate in ongoing advising training including technology use.
• Use personal computers and software such as word processing, database management, and spreadsheets.
• Required qualifications include a Master’s degree with two years of academic advising or a Bachelor’s with five years’ advising experience, strong communication skills, and experience working with diverse student populations.
• Salary range is $60,000 - $70,000; position is full-time and permanent with a hybrid work agreement allowing two remote days per week.
