The Greene School – West Greenwich, Rhode Island – is a public charter high school serving approximately 200 students in grades 9–12. Our community is rooted in Expeditionary Learning and environmental education, embracing diverse cultures and backgrounds. We have recently expanded to a 6–12 configuration, adding a middle school program to deepen our continuum of learning.
Job DescriptionTGS is seeking a part‑time School Psychologist to join our Support Services Team two days per week. The role applies expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior to help students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally, partnering with families, teachers, and administrators to strengthen home‑school‑community connections.
Scope of Work- Data‑based decision making to identify student and school‑wide needs and monitor progress.
- Consultation and collaboration with administrators, teachers, and caregivers.
- Direct services: evaluations, academic interventions, and mental/behavioral health services.
- Indirect services: school‑wide practices promoting learning and safe, supportive environments.
- Equitable, research‑ and evidence‑based practice consistent with legal and ethical standards.
- Assessment and Data‑Based Decision Making – utilize varied models and methods of assessment, develop services and programs, measure progress over time.
- Consultation and Collaboration – work with colleagues, students, families, and stakeholders; prioritize caseload with Director of Special Education and Principal; crisis preparation, response, recovery.
- Academic and Behavioral Interventions – collaborate with teachers to implement and evaluate services supporting cognitive, academic, social, and behavioral skills through MTSS; provide direct counseling and group interventions as scheduled.
- Family and Community Collaboration – implement culturally responsive services, facilitate family‑school partnerships, connect with community agencies.
Part‑time position: two days per week on campus; specific days to be determined in coordination with the Director of Special Education.
CompensationSalary prorated based on a two‑day‑per‑week schedule and commensurate with experience.
Job Requirements- Advanced degree in School Psychology from a regionally accredited institution, minimum 60 graduate semester hours and 1,200‑hour internship with at least 600 hours in a school setting.
- Valid Rhode Island Professional Certificate for assignment as a School Psychologist, grades PK‑12.
- Preferred:
Experience in a public charter or small‑school setting; familiarity with MTSS frameworks and expeditionary or place‑based learning models; demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, including students of color, LGBTQ+ students, and students from varied religious and socioeconomic backgrounds. - Advanced Studies degree preferred.
