Position Overview: The instructional paraprofessional supports teachers and related service personnel in delivering high-quality instruction, implementing behavioral plans, and fostering social, emotional, and academic development for all students, with a focus on those with special education needs.
Job Requirements- Minimum Qualifications:
• Appropriate certification as a Teacher Assistant through RIDE or evidence of completion of an associate degree or higher.
• Evidence of knowledge and skills necessary to perform the functions of the position.
• Evidence of knowledge and/or implementation of instructional/behavioral strategies, materials and/or technologies.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development and training that may include the use of adaptive instructional and assessment materials.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new strategies, techniques, and technologies effectively.
• Ability to occasionally lift or restrain students.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Be of good character.
• Training in the use of adaptive software, instructional and assessment materials.
• And/or any combination of education, experience, and knowledge and skills deemed substantially equivalent by the school committee or designee.
- At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
