Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Building Substitute to join our team 2.5 days a week. As a Building Substitute, you will play a crucial role in supporting various educational settings by providing coverage for absent staff members. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of students in diverse learning environments.

Candidates must have a valid RI Teaching License.

Responsibilities:

• Implement lesson plans left by the absent teacher, TA, or other staff member
• Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment
• Support students in their learning activities and provide assistance as needed
• Manage classroom behavior and encourage student engagement
• Collaborate with permanent staff to ensure continuity in educational activities
• Follow school policies and procedures effectively

Skills:

• Proficiency in tutoring and assisting students with diverse learning needs
• Experience in elementary education settings
• Strong classroom management skills to create an organized learning environment
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices
• Ability to work with individuals with autism or special education requirements
• Capacity to educate and engage students effectively
• Familiarity with behavior management techniques
