Outdoor Educator - Daytime and After School

Starting Date: Immediately

• Lead students in outdoors activities including working in the gardens, exploring campus ecology, doing outdoor activities, outdoor play, nature crafts and team games
• Work with Farm Director to develop and implement inquiry based, hands on educational programs that matches the goals of environmental sustainability and social responsibility on the farm
• Incorporate art, music, science, history or other passion areas into student learning
• Work in cooperation with co-counselors and farm director

General Information:
The Compass School is a K-8 public charter school focused on environmental sustainability and social responsibility. Our historic farm property offers a beautiful food growing environment for small groups of students to engage in project learning with ties to the school day curriculum. The farm also serves as an educational resource; supporting the school mission through curriculum enhancement and community outreach.

• Must have experience working with K-8th grade students;
  Experience with outdoor education is strongly preferred. Enjoy being outdoors, teaching, be a self-starter, leading outdoor play and projects. Criminal Background specific to The Compass School required. Current 1st aid/CPR required. Flexible and creative with children and co-workers. Ability to organize and prioritize, manage time effectively, complete tasks efficiently. Hourly pay is commensurate with experience, ranging from $16 to $24 per hour.
