Location: West Greenwich

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support capital and infrastructure projects related to site utilities, facility modifications, civil/site development, fire protection systems, and manufacturing support infrastructure.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional project activities from concept through commissioning, qualification, start‑up, and turnover.
  • Provide technical oversight for architectural, MEP, civil, and structural engineering design; fire protection and fire alarm engineering design; stormwater and drainage systems; site access and infrastructure modifications; and utility routing and facility integration.
  • Ensure compliance with local town and municipal codes, fire and life safety requirements, environmental regulations, and corporate engineering standards.
  • Serve as the site interface with town officials, fire marshals, building inspectors, external engineering firms, and FM Global representatives; support permitting strategy, inspections, and regulatory approvals.
  • Partner with Facilities & Engineering, Manufacturing, EHSS, Automation, and Capital Project teams to minimize operational impact during project execution; support outage planning, construction sequencing, operational readiness, and start‑up activities.
  • Participate in engineering risk assessments, constructability reviews, and project governance activities.
  • Drive technical problem solving, issue resolution, and continuous improvement across site infrastructure systems.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and project teams.
  • Manage engineering design processes, support projects during funding cycles, assist with bid and buy‑out processes, manage engineering resources during construction, provide support to the project management team, and manage equipment start‑up and commissioning.
  • Provide general site engineering support for existing systems and infrastructure, offer code and guidance for repair/maintenance work, and provide troubleshooting support.
  • Support the site fire protection maintenance program.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma / GED and 10 years of engineering experience OR
  • Associate’s degree and 8 years of engineering experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of engineering experience OR
  • Master’s degree and 2 years of engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, GMP, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of
  • IBC
  • NFPA
  • FM Global standards
  • OSHA regulations
  • Municipal permitting processes.
Experience with
  • Capital project management

  • Experience with walk‑in freezers/cold rooms, HVAC systems, fume hoods, bio‑safety cabinets, laminar flow benches, chillers, cooling towers, fire protection, fire alarm systems, close‑loop pumping systems, electrical systems/motor controls, building automation systems, H‑Room occupancy types, chemical storage & handling, laboratory equipment, vacuum systems, boilers, steam and condensate handling, compressed air/gasses, cryo‑gasses, cryo‑freezers, fuel handling systems, chemical & fuel tank farms, data centers, architectural/roofing systems, elevators, warehouse racking, loading dock equipment, parking structures, underground piping/utilities.
