We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and self-directed Mechanical HVAC Designer/Engineer to join our Engineering Department and provide high-quality design services across the firm. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in HVAC design and Revit, who is eager to contribute immediately and continue developing toward senior-level responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop HVAC system designs, including layout, equipment selection, ductwork, hydronic piping, heating and cooling load calculations, and energy analysis.
  • Create and maintain detailed construction documents, specifications, airflow diagrams, and piping/control schematics.
  • Work with 3D architectural models in Revit to draw ductwork and piping layouts, integrating mechanical systems with structural, electrical, plumbing, and other disciplines.
  • Design and/or assist in the design of Air Handling Units, Energy Recovery Ventilators, Boilers (gas, oil, propane), Hydronic Systems, Heat Pumps, VRF systems, and other HVAC components.
  • Support project phases from conceptual design through construction, bidding, and startup.
  • Apply ASHRAE, NFPA, and building code standards; coordinate with code officials as required.
  • Participate in site visits, field coordination, and startup support as needed.
  • Mentor junior staff and collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and service technicians to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide drafting support to other disciplines (Plumbing, Fire Protection, VDC group) when necessary.
Education and Experience:
  • Required:

    2–5+ years of HVAC design experience with a consulting or engineering firm.
  • Preferred: 5–10 years of progressive HVAC design/engineering experience.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred but not required.
  • Direct Revit software experience required (2D & 3D drafting/modeling).
  • Experience with load calculation software such as Trane Trace or HAP strongly preferred
