The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides rehabilitative services to residents under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA assists in implementing treatment plans designed to improve mobility, reduce pain, restore function, and promote independence.

• Carry out treatment plans as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and mobility interventions.
• Document resident progress and communicate changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate residents and families on exercises and home programs.
• Assist with equipment setup and maintenance.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary team discussions regarding resident care.

• Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in the state of Rhode Island.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility.
• Direct interaction with residents, requiring physical stamina and flexibility.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as part of resident care and equipment handling requirements.
