Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift. This position will be located at our Rumford, RI facility.

As the Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift, you are a key member of the East Providence Operations Team and are responsible for safely leading and coordinating 2nd shift operations to meet daily targets for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people engagement.

Scheduled hours for this role are 3:00 pm – 12:00 am (2nd shift).

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71,000$105,000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead 2nd shift shop floor execution to safely fulfill customer orders and meet daily production targets.
  • Set clear expectations, coach performance, and hold self and team accountable to standard work, documented processes, and procedures.
  • Build and sustain a visually driven, process‑oriented culture that focuses on customer value and continuous improvement.
  • Promote positive employee relations by modeling Eaton’s values, ethics, and philosophies and by addressing concerns promptly and respectfully.
  • Track and review key performance metrics; use the Eaton Business System to identify, prioritize, and implement improvements within the work area.
  • Partner with day shift Value Stream Managers to ensure effective shift handoffs, continuity of production, and rapid resolution of issues.
  • Ensure employees have the training, information, and tools needed to perform work safely, effectively, and to quality standards.
  • Translate plant vision and goals into actionable shift priorities; communicate progress and reinforce alignment through daily direction and feedback.
  • Perform routine safety and security checks (including perimeter walks) and respond to incidents, alarms, and escalations in accordance with site procedures.
Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution OR a high school diploma/GED from an accredited institution with a minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of manufacturing supervisory experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • This position requires access to export‑controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, the applicant must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158).
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50‑mile radius of Rumford, RI will be considered. Active‑Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supervising in a high‑mix manufacturing environment on an off shift (limited support functions on‑site).
  • Experience working in a union environment and partnering effectively with union leadership to support plant objectives.
  • Experience using production systems (ERP/MRP/MES) for labor reporting, work order execution, and schedule adherence.
Position Success Criteria
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing / continuous improvement tools (e.g., 5S, standard work, daily accountability, problem solving).
  • Demonstrated safety leadership, including incident response, hazard identification, and completion of shift safety audits/walks.
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to lead effective shift handoffs, escalate issues appropriately, and drive cross‑shift alignment.
  • Ability to coach, develop, and motivate hourly employees; experience with performance management and training within a manufacturing setting.
