Manufacturing ​/ Production Technician, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for producing dispensing closures in a quality and cost‑efficient manner, troubleshooting process problems, and performing any necessary changes, as well as all elements of quality and productivity.

• Ensure all molding automation equipment is running and maintain mold machines to standard.
• Update standards and review set‑ups to ensure machines run to standards.
• Ensure labor efficiency standards are met.
• Troubleshoot problems with the production process and notify appropriate individuals in a timely manner.
• Determine root causes of problems arising from material and molding machines.
• Prepare work requests and communicate to appropriate departments for repair and maintenance of molds, machines, process set‑up, mold and/or related ancillary equipment.
• Ensure all non‑conforming material is moved to the MRB area with samples, cause and corrective action listed with the material.
• Check down screen and lot size for upcoming changes.
• Start up machines as required with the appropriate mold color and material changes and mold repairs.
• Ensure mold color and material changes meet appropriate standards and specifications.
• Monitor all material and blend changes.
• Take appropriate action if problems are not repairable to maintain production.
• Utilize Mattec to receive true cavity count.
• Give samples of product to appropriate individuals and complete necessary paperwork.
• Verify cavity count correlation between MATTEC and the BIN.
• Ensure cleaning of tie bars, ways, conveyors, cappers, and giraffe to keep product free of oil and grease.
• Analyze order status and expedite all priority jobs and finished goods on skids.
• Shut off machines not being used over the weekend, including shutting off water, heat, pumps, water heaters, etc.
• Assist in diagnosing machine trouble areas using knowledge of inputs, outputs, and electronics.
• Maintain a well‑organized and clean shop floor in compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area, keeping walkways and aisles clear.
• Perform general housekeeping duties such as sweeping and trash removal.
