Job Summary
RTX is hiring a second shift technician for final assembly of energetic sections in large‑scale missile production at the Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL. The role involves working with explosive items, robotic automation, and ensuring strict adherence to documented processes.
Responsibilities- Perform assembly, modification, and checkout of ordnance weapon systems, including handling warheads and pyrotechnic devices.
- Operate pneumatic and manual tools, including torque tools capable of >250 ft‑lb.
- Move hardware using advanced robotic automation and manual means in a factory setting.
- Follow detailed work instructions and procedures to guarantee hardware conformance.
- Support and champion Lean Manufacturing practices across all processes.
- Provide guidance and direction to team members and support training for continued production excellence.
- Stand for extended periods and lift/carry up to 28 lbs.
- Participate in meetings to acquire necessary operational knowledge.
Active DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain it prior to start is required. U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent (AA/AS or other 2‑year post‑secondary training).
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in assembly or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to follow detailed processes and focus on material handling.
- Ability to lift 28 lbs and stand for long periods.
- U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.
- Experience operating forklift, walker stacker, pallet jack, or similar material handling equipment.
- Physical warehousing and inventory control experience.
- Current DoD Secret or higher security clearance.
- Salary range: $43,400 – $82,600 USD.
