Location: Rumford

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for supporting the Quality Management System and ensuring that coating processes, products, and documentation meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.

Shift

Monday-Friday 5 a.m.

- 1:30 p.m.

Responsibilities
  • Perform inspection and measurement activities using basic metrology tools to verify conformity of coated products to specified requirements.
  • Utilize appropriate measuring and monitoring equipment—including dry film thickness (DFT) gauges, vernier calipers, micrometers, steel rules, and feeler gauges—to assess coating thickness, dimensional characteristics, and fit‑for‑purpose requirements before, during, and after coating processes.
  • Interpret customer specifications, job travelers, and technical drawings to ensure compliance with defined acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure measuring and monitoring resources are suitable for use, properly handled, and maintained in calibration or verification status in accordance with documented quality procedures.
  • Perform incoming, in‑process, and final inspections of coated parts to ensure compliance with customer specifications, drawings, and applicable industry standards.
  • Accurately record inspection results, identify nonconforming product, and initiate nonconformance reports and corrective actions in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Assist with root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain inspection records, certifications of conformance, and quality documentation in compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal, customer, and third‑party audits, including ISO 9001, AS9100, and NADCAP audits.
  • Communicate quality issues to production, engineering, and management in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the production team to identify and implement effective quality and process improvement solutions.
  • Operate in accordance with AS9100, ISO 9001, applicable coating standards, safety procedures, environmental controls, and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy work environment by following established standards, procedures, and company policies.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or quality‑related training preferred.
  • 1–3 years of quality inspection or quality assurance experience in a manufacturing or coatings/metal finishing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and inspection methods.
  • Basic metrology and the use of micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Ability to read drawings and an understanding of geometric tolerances.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to read written purchase orders, specification sheets, and other paperwork pertinent to the job.
