- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, menus, and production schedules
- Ensure meals are prepared on time and meet quality and presentation standards
- Follow food safety, sanitation, infection-control, and kitchen safety requirements
- Prepare meals that accommodate residents’ dietary needs, restrictions, and preferences
- Review menus and production sheets before meal preparation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen
- Properly label, date, rotate, and store food and ingredients
- Monitor food temperatures and complete required documentation
- Assist with receiving, storing, and maintaining food supplies
- Monitor inventory and notify the supervisor when supplies are needed
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly
- Work closely with Dining Services staff to support smooth meal service
- Assist with special events, holiday meals, and resident programs as needed
- Complete additional kitchen and food service duties as assigned
- Previous cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, senior living, or similar food service environment
- Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and food safety practices
- Ability to follow recipes, menus, and production schedules
- Ability to prepare meals for individuals with different dietary needs
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to (lifting requirement) pounds
- Availability to work based on the needs of the community
