Overview

As an Essential Quality Premix Technical Sales Representative, you will form a vital link between our company and our customers. Your tasks as Technical Sales Representative are to engage with our customers, gain understanding of their needs and service them through our sales processes and provide technical guidance on product selection and use. In addition, you will lead the expansion of our customer base and industry network to put Essential Quality Premix’s offering in front of mind in the animal nutrition and health industry.

The position is key to growing Essential Quality Premix commercial interests in Southern Africa. In this role you will manage existing and new customers with the execution of sales plans which include customer relationship excellence and problem resolution. You will also assist in premix formulations and preparation of these formulations for production.

Responsibilities
  • Premix formulation, premix costings, loading of premixes on the production system and the preparation of batch sheets.
  • Manage, develop, and grow sales with existing and new customers through regular customer visits.
  • Meet sales and margin targets as set and agreed with the company.
  • Assist in formulating and implementing sales and marketing plans relevant to our strategic interests and assume responsibility for successfully achieving sales targets.
  • Develop and support the administration of market information and customer databases.
  • Plan and prepare sales budgets in line with the company’s growth targets.
  • Maintain high frequency contact with our clients on multi contact level (premix, feed mill, farmers, consultants and key influencers).
  • Build and maintain a strong network with our customers to promote Essential Quality Premix as a trusted and dependable feed solutions partner.
  • Prepare and present customer presentations.
  • Participate and represent the company at industry meetings and events.
Qualifications
  • Sc. Agriculture degree in Animal Science (M.Sc. Agric will be an advantage).
  • Minimum SACNASP Candidate Natural Scientist registration.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ industry related experience (animal feeds, premix, feed additives or related industry).
  • Experience in technical sales support, sales or marketing.
  • Feed formulation experience will be an advantage.
Essential Skills
  • Commercial interest.
  • Interest in developing marketing, sales, and project management.
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must be a team player, but also able to work.
Language Skills
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication;
  • Fluency in English; and
  • Superior presentation and communication.
