Target Security Specialist

The Starting Hourly Rate / Salario por Hora Inicial is $21.25 USD per hour. The Pay Range / Rango salarial is $21.25 USD - $31.90 USD per hour.

• Use intelligence‑led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure.
• Provide crisis response, safety and crowd management support to both guests and team members.
• Employ de‑escalation techniques and experience with physical security controls.
• Use Target's video surveillance system to monitor the store.
• Document security incidents promptly and accurately using case management systems.
• Promote a physical security culture by assessing and maintaining safe and secure standards throughout the store, including exterior property.
• Respond to and accurately document security incidents in a timely manner.
• Leverage de‑escalation tactics and resources when responding to security incidents across the store.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support as needed, strictly adhering to AP policies.
• Prevent theft and shortage at the front of store by performing merchandise receipt checks and recognizing trends.
• Submit appropriate documentation in the case management system for all incidents following AP policy and procedures.
• Understand and appropriately use Target's video surveillance system.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training.
• Perform other duties as needed based on business needs.

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capacity to remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, conduct apprehensions in accordance with company policy, scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Flexible work schedule (night, weekend, holiday, and peak shopping times).
• Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other conditions while performing certain job duties such as Drive‑Up, carry‑out, etc.
• Maintain mobility throughout scheduled shift regardless of shift length.

The starting hourly rate is $21.25 USD, with a pay range of $21.25 to $31.90 USD per hour.
