Location: Mapleville

Charcuterie Artisans is seeking a skilled industrial boiler technician with the ability to evaluate, troubleshoot and repair commercial oil and gas boilers, hot water and steam heating equipment. Must be able to handle the day-to-day preventive maintenance and daily field-testing parameters.

Looking for someone who is capable to communicating effectively with management and accurately document all job specific troubleshooting and repairs and maintenance.

Looking to establish a preventive maintenance program and inspection program utilizing the company CMMS system (Computer Maintenance Management System).Must be willing to respond for emergency on-call services.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair commercial oil and gas boilers, hot water and steam heating systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance of commercial oil and gas boilers, hot water and steam heating equipment.
  • Perform the day-to-day field testing and blowdown maintenance required.
  • Accurately document all job-specific troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance with up-to-date work orders using the Limble CMMS system.
  • Must be willing to participate in emergency on-call equipment issues in times of emergency, after hours if needed.
  • Must be able to work with others and other department as if needed and or help with the repairs.
  • Must be able to help with repair on the facility needs if within scope of work. Pluming and or repairs on lines if applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and management to arrange inspections and cleaning of equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Education:

    A High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED), Vocational School training is helpful but not required.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 2 years of related experience evaluating, troubleshooting and repairing commercial oil and gas boilers, hot water and steam heating equipment.
  • Computer

    Skills:

    Working knowledge of basic computer skills. The ability to operate a computer-controlled monitoring system. Ability to utilize an Apple iPad for the Limble CMMS System.
  • Certifications & Licenses required: RI-PJF or MA oil burner license with the ability to obtain a RI license (preferred)
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of commercial heating systems including steam, hot water and controls, pumps, piping, associated controls and electrical circuits
  • HVAC experience a plus
Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair commercial oil and gas boilers, hot water and steam heating systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance of commercial oil and gas boilers, hot water and steam heating equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand wiring schematics and piping layouts.
  • Able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, access crawl spaces, boiler rooms, mechanical spaces, exterior spaces.
  • Perform the day-to-day field testing and blowdown maintenance required.
  • Accurately document all job-specific troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance with up-to-date work orders using the Limble CMMS system.
  • Must be willing to participate in emergency on-call equipment issues in times of emergency, after hours if needed.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and management to arrange inspections and cleaning of equipment.
  • Maintain spare parts, plumbing inventory, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, hand tools and power tools.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, to locate the cause of an issue or damaged equipment.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous and is food safe quality.
  • Plan layout and installation of plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Follow blueprints and schematics to determine the location of plumbing and equipment, and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair piping, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Ability to be trained to run a forklift, scissor lift, pallet jack and off-road forklift or Lull.
  • Work with crew members when activities require additional workforce outside of mechanical trade.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform basic facilities HVAC maintenance when Boiler work is slow and when an extra hand is needed.
Working Conditions:
  • Work in varied environments including confined spaces, mechanical rooms, and outdoor areas.
  • Exposure to temperature changes, moisture, and industrial equipment.
  • May require overtime, weekend, or emergency response availability.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory in designated areas.

$30 - $35 an hour
