Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd Shift Sat-Wed - Wakefield, RI

Overview

Facilities Maintenance Mechanic – South County Health (Crothall Healthcare), 2nd shift (Sat-Wed, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM; schedule may vary with on-call rotations). This is a Union Account position. Salary: $24.00 to $27.00 per hour; $2.00 per hour shift differential.

• Operate and maintain equipment including HVAC systems, boilers, generators, and steam equipment.
• Provide quality customer service with attention to detail.
• Perform repairs to building and grounds; conduct routine rounds of mechanical spaces and document equipment readings.
• Replace HVAC air filters per schedule; monitor building security and safety; lock doors after hours and check electrical appliance use for hazards.
• Notify managers of major repairs or additions to operating systems; coordinate repairs with other departments.
• Respond to emergency call-ins; report deficiencies on specific jobs or equipment.
• Assist other trades and participate in facilities emergency events; review work of outside vendors.
• Maintain mechanical spaces per Quality Assurance Program and keep stock and tools needed for work.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition; drive vehicles as required; document work per department procedures.
• Complete safety and technical training as assigned; wear appropriate PPE and protective gear.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED; 1 year trade or vocational school; trade certificate preferred; valid unencumbered driver’s license.
• Experience:
  
  Five years’ general maintenance experience in commercial, industrial, or healthcare settings.
• Skills:
  
  Customer service/interpersonal; problem solving; teamwork; professionalism; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; general knowledge of building maintenance and basic maintenance supplies.
