Join Uline Inc., a leading North American distributor of shipping, industrial and packaging materials, as a Control Mechanic in our Engineering, Maintenance & Asset Management department. In this hands-on role, you'll install, troubleshoot and maintain control systems and equipment that keep our high-volume distribution operations running efficiently. Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair industrial control systems, including PLCs, motor controls, VFDs, sensors and safety circuits for distribution and logistics equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical, mechanical and control schematics to diagnose faults and perform root cause analysis on equipment failures.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on conveyors, packaging lines, material handling systems and facility support equipment to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests in a fast-paced warehouse environment, prioritizing safety and minimizing impact to operations.
- Calibrate, adjust and replace instrumentation, sensors and control components to ensure accurate, reliable operation of automated systems.
- Support installation, commissioning and modification of new equipment and control systems in coordination with engineering and project teams.
- Document maintenance activities, parts usage and findings in a computerized maintenance management system, and recommend improvements to maintenance plans.
- Collaborate with engineers, operators and other maintenance staff to standardize best practices, improve equipment reliability and implement process improvements.
- Adhere to all safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout, electrical safety and OSHA requirements, and promote a strong safety culture on the floor.
- Provide basic training and guidance to operators and peers on equipment operation, care and early identification of maintenance issues.
