We are looking to recruit a ASHP Surveyor, Designer & Site Supervisor to cover South Wales and the South West areas. This role will involve travel between a number of offices in this area, a company van and fuel card will be provided.
Role OverviewTo undertake comprehensive property surveys, design Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) systems, and supervise installation works across local housing projects. The role ensures that all installations meet current industry standards, building regulations, MCS requirements, PAS 2035 principles where applicable, and client specifications while delivering high‑quality workmanship, energy efficiency, and excellent customer service.
Responsibilities- Conduct on‑site surveys to assess residential properties for ASHP suitability.
- Evaluate heating systems, insulation, electrical capacity, and property construction.
- Complete heat loss calculations, identify remedial works, and produce detailed survey reports with technical documentation.
- Liaise with tenants, housing officers, and project teams.
- Design and size ASHP systems using approved software.
- Produce installation drawings, schematics, and technical packs.
- Ensure designs comply with MCS, Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance, manufacturer specifications, and client requirements.
- Update designs to reflect site conditions.
- Oversee ASHP installations, ensuring quality, safety, and programme compliance.
- Conduct site inspections, coordinate subcontractors, resolve technical issues, and attend project meetings.
- Ensure commissioning documentation is completed accurately.
- Inspect completed installations, rectify defects, and maintain project documentation.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with MCS, Health & Safety legislation, RAMS, and company procedures.
- Communicate installation processes to residents and respond to customer queries.
- Build positive relationships with clients, housing associations, local authorities, contractors, and suppliers.
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
- Maintain accurate survey reports, design documentation, project records, progress reports, and project management system updates.
- Proven experience in domestic Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) surveying, system design, and installation supervision.
- Strong knowledge of heat loss calculations, low‑temperature heating systems, MCS standards, Building Regulations, and Health & Safety requirements.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and use Microsoft Office and industry‑specific design software.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills, with a customer‑focused approach.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Desirable Qualifications
- MCS Design Qualification and/or Level 3 Award in Heat Pump Systems.
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent).
- SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS Card, First Aid at Work.
- Knowledge of PAS 2035 and/or Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) qualification.
