About the Role
Our client requires a diligent and technically adept Field Service Engineer to manage and maintain telecommunications infrastructure in the Richards Bay area. You will be responsible for the hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and repair of critical network equipment, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery to clients. This role involves significant travel within the region and requires a strong understanding of network hardware and connectivity solutions.
You will play a key role in upholding the company's reputation for reliable service and technical excellence, working directly with clients to resolve complex issues on-site.
- Perform on-site installation, configuration, and commissioning of telecommunications hardware and software.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance checks and diagnostics on network equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware and software issues affecting network performance and service availability.
- Respond to customer service calls and resolve technical problems in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including repairs, installations, and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company standards during all field operations.
- National Diploma or N6 Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Telecommunications.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a field service role within the telecoms industry.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment used in network maintenance.
- Knowledge of cellular technologies (GSM, LTE, 5G) and transmission systems.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle challenging on-site situations.
