Industrial Maintenance Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to join their operations team in Richards Bay . This role is critical for ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of our manufacturing and industrial facilities through expert maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for executing preventative maintenance programs, responding to urgent repair needs, and ensuring all equipment meets stringent safety and operational standards.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and possesses a strong mechanical aptitude, with a dedication to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance , and repairs on a variety of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, implementing timely and effective repairs to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret blueprints , schematics, and technical manuals to guide maintenance and repair activities.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance performed, parts used, and equipment status in the CMMS.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
• Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities to minimize disruption to operations in Richards Bay .

• Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician or similar role in a manufacturing or heavy industry setting.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment .
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including schematics and diagrams.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
