Farm Machinery Technician

Our client is looking for a skilled and dedicated Farm Machinery Technician to join their agricultural services team in Richards Bay, Kwa Zulu-Natal . This role is essential for maintaining the operational readiness of our diverse fleet of agricultural equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency for our farming operations. You will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of tractors, harvesters, planters, and other farm machinery.

This position requires a hands-on approach, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality workmanship in a dynamic agricultural setting, supporting the vital farming activities in the Kwa Zulu-Natal region.

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on all types of farm machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues accurately and efficiently.
• Service and repair engines, transmissions, braking systems, and other critical components.
• Use diagnostic equipment and specialized tools to troubleshoot complex machinery problems.
• Maintain a clean and organized workshop, ensuring proper inventory of spare parts and supplies.
• Document all service and repair activities accurately in the maintenance log.

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or Agricultural Machinery Technician.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with agricultural machinery and heavy equipment.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to work in field conditions around Richards Bay .
