Summary

The Health & Safety Analyst has the primary responsibility for assisting in the development, implementation and maintenance of Celestica's Employee Health, Safety and Wellness Programs. This role is integral to the organizations’ focus on the protection of employee safety, health and wellbeing, which enables the safe and effective operations of Celestica’s Texas location(s)

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting.
  • Strong communication skills - oral, written, verbal. Ability to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization, including the ability to devise and present training and education materials.
  • Strong analytical skills and investigation skills
  • Emotional maturity to understand the impact, sensitivity and confidentiality of EHS issues.
  • Ability to prioritize competing requirements with a strong sense of urgency and understanding of multi-jurisdictional complexities.
Responsibilities
  • Establish, maintain, update and improve health and safety standards, policies, guidelines and procedures. This excludes site specific policies and procedures that are maintained locally.
  • Identify areas for improving HS programs to mitigate risks.
  • Day to day management of data collection and reporting e.g. EHS KPIs, site status reports re: focused topics
  • Monitor regulatory developments and leading HS practices
  • Benchmark standards and policies against common practices within the industry.
  • Participate in the management of the development, communication and implementation of new HS procedures, training and initiatives. Monitor training completions for targeted topics.
  • Organize and drive HS site conference calls - scheduling, material preparation, and follow-up
  • Support site-level investigations and response for Health and Safety incidents including Lost Time Incidents, Recordables, and Near Misses.
  • Assist in management and coordination of 3rd party EHS site assessments / auditing programs e.g. RBA, ISO , and 3rd party regulatory compliance audits AND internal EHS site assessments / auditing programs e.g. RBA. Drive corrective action closure for all findings.
  • Summarize and analyze audit findings and recommendations and share with Cls. EHS network.
  • Assessment and completion of customer surveys related to Cls HS programs
  • RBA core team member calls, audit discussions, update to HS related requirements
  • Develop training materials for site usage (1 topic per month)
  • Create and manage database for site permits and approvals
Physical Demands
  • Incumbent will perform the duties of this position in a normal office and manufacturing environments
  • Able to respond to incidents after normal business hours, on weekends, and holidays.
  • Possible local and domestic travel to support internal audits
Typical Experience
