We have an exciting opportunity within our Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) Strategic Business Unit for a Manager, Contracts
. This role is within the Space, Intelligence, Surveillance, & Reconnaissance (SISR) Sub-strategic Business Unit (SSBU) and Commercial Intelligence & IT (Ci2) program area. The successful candidate will develop contract strategy, provide strategic contractual guidance, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on a wide range of business, contractual, and programmatic matters. The position emphasizes strong business acumen, contract development, negotiation strategy, and alignment with program and financial objectives.
The Manager, Contracts is an individual contributor role supporting program area directors and reports to the Associate Director, Contracts. The role requires collaboration with program management and cross-functional teams to support program gate reviews, program management reviews, proposal reviews, risk management, and other contractual matters affecting the portfolio. The candidate will work with internal and external customers to ensure successful program performance and desired outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide contracts management for development of government-type proposals, negotiations, contractual agreements, contract execution, and day-to-day administration.
- Provide sound contract management to meet customer obligations, achieve company objectives, and comply with policies.
- Manage contractual scope and terms and conditions to ensure work aligns with the contract scope.
- Develop and enhance positive customer relationships for contractual matters, collaborating with Program Management, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, and other functions to drive issue resolution and contract closure.
- Communicate with senior leadership on strategic contractual and business issues, rights and obligations, and risk mitigation.
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience with minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with minimum 5 years of experience.
- Experience with U.S. Government and/or Defense-related Contracts Management/Administration.
- Experience with acquisitions and/or proposals, including sole-source and competitive activities, and familiarity with FAR/DFARS clauses or other customer supplementals.
- Experience with contracts acquisition regulatory environments and related processes.
- Self-starter with positive energy who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
- Professional communication skills to interface with all levels of internal and external customers; strong analytical and interpersonal abilities.
- Critical thinker with risk assessment skills and the ability to deliver timely solutions.
