Overview
RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, invites you to join as a Payroll Operations Analyst – Benefits Processing. This role serves as a subject matter expert responsible for executing and overseeing payroll actions across multiple RTX business units, including Raytheon, Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, and Corporate. The analyst ensures accurate calculations, validation, reconciliation, reporting, and compliance for all benefits deductions.
The role applies federal regulations (e.g., USERRA), SOX controls, union CBAs, and RTX policies while conducting detailed reviews and resolving escalated cases. This position partners with Leave of Absence, Payroll Operations, Time & Labor, Human Resources, Total Rewards, Vendor Partners, and business unit stakeholders to ensure timely, precise, and audit-ready payroll transaction processing across the enterprise.
- Audit and validate Benefits payroll processing procedures, ensuring accurate earnings and deductions and adherence to state compliance payroll deadlines.
- Oversee and ensure timely delivery of payroll processing signoffs, serving as the subject matter expert for Benefits deductions.
- Partner with Vendor Partners, Total Rewards, and other teams to ensure accurate documentation, approvals, and data inputs across all business units.
- Develop, publish, and analyze metrics reporting to monitor SLA adherence, identify processing trends, and highlight improvement opportunities.
- Provide insights and recommendations to leadership to drive quality, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Act as SME and primary escalation point for payroll benefits cases, including multi-system research, employee communications, policy interpretation, or cross-functional coordination.
- Manage incoming report distribution and tracking, ensuring accurate validation, routing, and follow-up across payroll teams.
- Maintain audit-ready records for all reports and processing actions.
- Monitor and manage team inboxes and multi-system case queues, triaging requests, prioritizing urgent actions, and ensuring timely responses.
- Identify items requiring escalation or cross-functional collaboration and document resolutions.
- Review process improvement intake, gather enhancement ideas, assess feasibility, and suggest process, system, or control improvements with Payroll Benefits leadership.
- You Must Have: A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in corporate payroll. 1+ year of experience in payroll benefits processing or an adjacent field, preferably in a large multi‑business unit organization.
- Experience with tools such as ADP EV5, ADP Global View, Workday, Service Now, Alight HRX, and related reporting systems.
- Proficiency in customer service management and handling case escalations.
- Experience processing benefits transactions related to final pay and other time-off payouts across business units.
- Familiarity with payroll-related compliance processes and regulations.
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, etc.).
- Ability to manage complex multi-system workflows while adhering to federal laws and maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and audit skills.

This is a hybrid role. Eligible candidates must reside within commuting distance of Richardson, TX or Farmington, CT. The role involves a mix of onsite and offsite work with the time onsite determined in partnership with your leader. Some interview steps may be conducted in-person at one of our office locations.
