Community Planner (San Antonio, Austin, Fort Worth, Richardson)

Halff is seeking to hire a Community Planner to join our Texas Planning Team with the option of several of our office locations. The ideal person for this position can thrive in a collaborative work environment with an interdisciplinary team of planners, landscape architects, and engineers. Our planners lead a wide variety of unique and traditional planning projects throughout Texas and several neighboring states.

Projects typically range from comprehensive planning to parks, recreation, and trails planning; downtown, special area planning; transportation planning; urban design and development codes; and more.

• Support dynamic project teams.
• Conduct public engagement activities.
• Create GIS maps and graphics.
• Prepare plan documents.
• Research and analysis, writing, and communicate through visuals.
• Communicate with clients and the public, building consensus.

• Bachelor's degree in community/urban planning or a closely related field from an accredited university.
• 1‑4 years of experience in a planning capacity.
• Strong knowledge of computer programs (GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office programs, InDesign) and ability to produce attractive maps, graphics, written documents.
• Great attitude toward teamwork, curiosity, initiative, and taking on new challenges.

• Experience in the public or private sector.
• Master's degree in community/urban planning, landscape architecture, architecture, or a closely related field.
• AICP certification.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
