Faculty Position Artificial Intelligence in Biological Sciences

Job Summary

The University of Texas at Dallas School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics seeks to fill multiple open-rank (Full, Associate, or Assistant Professor) tenured/tenure-track faculty positions in the Department of Biological Sciences. We seek to recruit scientists conducting research in the fields of artificial intelligence-guided computational and systems biology. The Department welcomes researchers whose work includes computational (dry lab) approaches or integrated computational and experimental (wet lab) components.

We aim to recruit individuals who can lead outstanding research and teaching programs, collaborate across departments and the university, and contribute to the training of graduate and undergraduate students. UT Dallas offers state-of-the-art facilities to support transdisciplinary research and a collaborative environment. The appointment commences for the fall 2026 semester.

Qualifications

Minimum

Education and Experience:

A PhD or equivalent in biology, biochemistry, computational biology, or a related discipline is required prior to employment. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment with colleagues from diverse backgrounds. They should produce research and scholarly or creative achievements that enhance the program and the discipline, and deliver high-quality teaching using evidence-based practices to engage students from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred

Education and Experience:

Postdoctoral research experience in a relevant field and potential to secure extramural funding is strongly preferred. Teaching experience and/or mentorship of junior scientists is preferred.

Qualifications:

The ability to maintain security or integrity of critical infrastructure may be a minimum qualification if the position requires access to such resources as defined by law.
