Position: Training and Development Specialist (Trainer)

OVERVIEW

The Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving training programs that support the professional development of legal and operations personnel within the firm. This role ensures that legal teams and support staff are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and tools required to deliver accurate, compliant, and high‑quality immigration services in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the design, development, and delivery of virtual, classroom, and on‑the‑job training programs, with a primary focus on New Hire Onboarding, including compliance‑related training.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of eLearning modules and digital learning resources.
  • Schedule and manage training sessions using the learning management system (LMS) and/or Outlook.
  • Facilitate train‑the‑trainer sessions to enable effective knowledge transfer by members of the Training & Development Team and other designated firm personnel.
  • Review and update existing training materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with current processes and immigration regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee training records and completion data within the LMS.
  • Stay current on training methodologies, instructional design best practices, and relevant subject matter by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, and collaborating with colleagues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support firm and training objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Two to four years of experience in a corporate immigration law firm.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. immigration law concepts, including non‑immigrant visas, PERM, adjustment of status, and compliance obligations.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship‑building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience using virtual instructor‑led training platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Experience using audio/video software (e.g., Audacity, Premiere Pro).
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex, technical information into practical, learner‑friendly content.
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Professional discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Strong client‑service orientation.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and meet critical deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis.
  • Able to perform general office administrative activities: copying, filing, delivering, and using the telephone.
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Regular and on‑time attendance.
  • Must be able to prioritize, schedule, and complete testing required for multiple applications with overlapping schedules.
  • A certain degree of creativity and flexibility is required.
  • Hours may exceed 40 hours per week.
  • Occasional travel by conventional means, including aircraft, motor vehicle, and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
