Job Summary

Position Description

The School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS) at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) seeks to fill a tenure-system late Associate or Full Professor faculty position with a scientist leading an established clinical research program and qualified to serve as the Director of the Clinical & Translational Research Center (CTRC) at UT Dallas. The CTRC is a Center jointly supported between the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences and the UT Dallas Office of Research and Innovation.

Researchers assessing pharmaceutical or device-based interventions with FDA oversight (approved IND or IDE) will be prioritized for hire. Applicants leading rigorous clinical trial programs outside the oversight of the FDA will also be considered. This position requires an active research program with current extramural funding, publications in highly regarded peer-reviewed journals, a record of excellence in teaching, and a history of institutional and professional service.

Successful applicants will be appointed to the Department of Neuroscience, the Department of Psychology, or the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing. Faculty members teach undergraduate and graduate level courses within their discipline and area of expertise. Joint appointments are possible and cross-listing of undergraduate and graduate seminars facilitates multi-disciplinary student education.

The appointment commences for the fall 2026 semester.

Qualifications

Minimum

Education and Experience:

A PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline is required prior to employment, with a significant history of clinical research leadership and an active, ongoing, funded research portfolio. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to produce research and scholarly or creative achievements that enhance the program and the discipline, and able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.

Preferred

Education and Experience:

A history of research collaborations broadly housed in the disciplines of neuroscience, psychology, or speech, language, and hearing is preferred. Candidates with clinical or translational research programs will be prioritized for hire.
