QUALIFICATIONS:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Experience working with children

* Skills to perform multiple tasks

* Competence to operate standard office equipment and use pertinent software applications

* Responsible and able to work independently

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Ability to perform basic math, concept of grammar and punctuation and age appropriate activities

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Plans under supervision of the teacher; make instructional presentations; conduct discussions; encourage practice; and correct student's work in a manner that promotes language competence

* Establish a positive rapport with students, parents and school personnel

* Work with individual students or small groups so that they may attain grade-level proficiency, and to remediate diagnosed weaknesses

* Attend appropriate and required staff development to enhance instruction

* Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment

* Maintain prompt and regular attendance

* Other duties as assigned
