Passive Activity Instructor Dance Instructor

JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, teach individuals and/or groups of various sizes in a passive setting, in year round recreation program. Classes include, but are not limited to, Arts, Crafts, Music, and Lecture format. Perform other related work as required.

• Effectively teach groups and/or individuals in the City’s passive recreation program.
• Communicate courteously and effectively with all other city employees, officials, patrons, and students.
• Enforce policies and procedures for the recreation program and its participants.
• Supervise large groups of participants both visually and audibly to ensure health/safety standards are implemented and maintained.

• May be required to carry, push, pull, drag and/or hold up to 30 pounds of furniture or equipment.
• Perform minor maintenance chores.

Certification required when applicable for specific courses/classes to be taught.

Must have the ability to teach and communicate effectively using whatever skills are necessary. Must present required evidence of experience and background/references. Must be able to demonstrate required ability/skill.
