SUMMARY: Richardson Park Elementary School is seeking a Special Education teacher to create a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade education, in accordance with each pupil's ability; and to establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.

Primary Function/

Duties Include:

Design and implement instructional program for students with intellectual disabilities that incorporates students' individualized education program
Adapting materials based on Individual Student needs
Develop IEPs and monitor student progress
Effective implementation of behavioral intervention strategies
Work collaboratively with psychologist, speech, occupational and physical therapists
Manage paraprofessional staff assigned to classroom
Effectively communicate orally and in writing

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Certificate(s):

Initial, Continuing or Advanced Delaware Licensure
Certified K-6
Certification in Special Education
