An industrial automation services organization is seeking a Controls Engineer to support the design, implementation, and commissioning of control systems across diverse customer environments. This role blends hands-on engineering with field support and requires responsiveness to unplanned equipment downtime. The ideal candidate can balance multiple priorities, adapt quickly in fast-paced situations, and maintain a strong customer-focused approach.
Key ResponsibilitiesEngineer, configure, and commission industrial control systems that meet functional requirements, quality expectations, and applicable regulatory standards.
Provide on-site troubleshooting and technical support for production and process equipment using common industrial automation platforms.
Act as a technical liaison for assigned projects and service engagements, clearly communicating with customers to manage scope, timelines, and resolution of issues.
Perform all work in accordance with established safety policies, customer requirements, and industry regulations.
Performance IndicatorsHigh levels of customer satisfaction and repeat service engagements
Successful delivery of projects within planned cost and margin targets
Effective utilization of engineering time in alignment with operational goals
Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline preferred.
Five or more years of experience engineering, commissioning, or troubleshooting industrial automation and control systems.
Professional AttributesStrong customer-facing communication skills with the ability to perform effectively under pressure
Analytical and structured approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours based on customer needs
Detail-oriented, patient, and capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently
Technical RequirementsHands‑on experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC platforms.
Experience configuring and supporting HMI/SCADA systems
, including Factory Talk View and Wonderware
.
Working knowledge of PLC programming, HMI development, and system integration concepts.
Familiarity with AC and DC drives, motion control systems, and industrial communication networks.
