Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

Board Bring-Up & Validation: Assist in the initial power-on and functional verification of new PCB assemblies (PCBAs).

Signal Integrity (SI) Testing: Conduct physical layer measurements (jitter, crosstalk, eye diagrams) on high-speed interfaces like PCIe, USB, and DDR.

Power Testing: Perform DC-DC converter characterization, including efficiency measurements, load transients, and power sequencing validation.

Electrical Characterization: Utilize lab equipment to verify electrical specifications and ensure designs meet internal and industry standards.

Data Analysis & Reporting: Document test results, identify failures, and work with the design team to root-cause hardware bugs.

Required

Skills & Qualifications

Education: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

Hands-on Lab

Experience:

Proficiency with standard test equipment, including:

  • Digital Oscilloscopes (high bandwidth)
  • Digital Multimeters (DMMs)
  • Programmable Power Supplies and Electronic Loads
  • Spectrum Analyzers or VNAs (a plus)
  • Scripting experience in a terminal environment

Technical Knowledge: Foundational understanding of Signal Integrity concepts (impedance matching, reflections, transmission line theory). Ability to read and interpret complex schematics and PCB layouts. Basic soldering skills for rework and attaching test probes.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to communicate technical findings clearly.

  • 3+ years of experience in similar job roles
Typical Education

Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
