Operations Manager
Collins Aerospace has an immediate need for a Senior Manager, Electrical Engineering within the supply chain engineering team. This position is for an Engineering Team Leader that will lead a team of Product Component Engineers (PCE) across the Mission Systems Portfolio. The individual will manage 7-10 supply chain engineers who act as the technical expert in collaboration with key stakeholders in Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Procurement, Quality, etc.
This leader will be required to interface with multiple stakeholders across North America, work in a matrixed environment, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the corporation.
This role requires a strong leader with familiarity with electronic components, from part selection to obsolescence management. The role will be located on‑site in Richardson, Texas to support classified programs.
Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time.
What You Will Do- Manage a team of supply chain engineers (both electrical and mechanical).
- Develop resourcing plans and assign technical resources to meet program needs.
- Responsible for the development and technical coaching of staff as well as the onboarding and assimilation of new hires.
- Presents written reports to senior level management for review, provides secondary approval for expenditures, enforces company policies, and makes decisions about the purchase of materials and services based on spending requirements.
- Implements business and strategic planning processes.
- Responsible for implementing short and long‑term organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- Understand preferred technologies, sources of supply, and acceptance criteria for commodities used on assigned programs.
- Apply techniques for the documentation and release of components, processes, and design guidelines associated with assigned programs.
- Review Bills of Materials (BOM) to ensure maximum health (technology, life cycle, source of supply, etc).
- Perform Failure and Root Cause Analysis and corrective action on assigned programs.
- Take ownership of all regional component parts related to local programs.
Provide technical assistance for programs related to:
- Material verification resolution.
- Specification or drawing exceptions.
- Supply Chain issues.
- Manufacturing related issues.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Ability to hold a TOP SECRET DoD Clearance.
- 7+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings and vendor component data sheets.
- 6+ years of experience working with component obsolescence.
- 4+ years of experience working with Mil-Std-11991A.
- Active Top-Secret DoD clearance on Day 1.
- Prior experience leading a team of technical professionals.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and team building.
- Understand and follow processes and procedures for component management.
- Demonstrated success working as part of cross‑functional team in a matrix environment.
The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD.
