Job Description & How to Apply Below
The candidate will focus on designing and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on military and commercial aircraft, as well as ground stations. You will use Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools to create system wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, control panels, and related components. The position spans the full product lifecycle, from requirements capture and analysis through design, testing, and production, ensuring that all solutions meet technical requirements at minimum cost.
You will contribute to power distribution design, electrical loads analysis, and load shedding schemes, and you will have the opportunity to support testing and integration of systems on the aircraft.
Responsibilities
+ Design and develop electrical systems to integrate electronic equipment on military and commercial aircraft and ground stations.
+ Create system wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, control panels, and related electrical design artifacts using CAD tools.
+ Develop power distribution architectures, perform electrical loads analysis, and define load shedding schemes to support mission and aircraft requirements.
+ Integrate electrical components and wiring into the design while ensuring compliance with vendor and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) requirements.
+ Verify system configurations and block diagrams to ensure design integrity and alignment with requirements.
+ Oversee the creation and maintenance of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness assembly drawings, circuit breaker layouts, and electrical loads analyses.
+ Coordinate aircraft electrical mission equipment installations and ensure proper integration with existing systems.
+ Identify, document, and communicate significant design and integration risks, and drive timely review and resolution with stakeholders.
+ Monitor aircraft installation design milestones and provide clear status reports to project and program management.
+ Operate in a collaborative team environment, working closely with other functional areas to develop design solutions and actively participate in design reviews.
+ Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees, supporting their technical development and adherence to processes.
+ Work with manufacturing teams, vendors, and suppliers to develop cost-effective and producible electrical solutions.
+ Investigate technical problems to root cause and champion the creation and implementation of effective corrective actions.
+ Apply configuration management tools and processes to control design baselines and documentation.
+ Create and refine development procedures, conduct effective design reviews, and provide technical guidance to other members of the development team.
+ Support system integration activities, including validation and verification, and contribute to sustainment of fielded systems.
+ Meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives with minimal oversight while maintaining high technical quality.
+ Communicate clearly and professionally in both oral and written form with internal teams and external customers.
Essential Skills
+ U.S. citizenship.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Top Secret security clearance; willingness to undergo required security investigations and meet eligibility requirements.
+ Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline, typically with a minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience; or an advanced degree with a minimum of three (3) years of experience; or a minimum of nine (9) years of relevant experience in the absence of a degree.
+ Demonstrated experience in electrical design and integration for complex systems, including creation of schematics and wiring diagrams.
+ Knowledge of AS50881 and/or MIL-STD-1472 standards.
+ Ability to integrate electrical components and wiring while meeting vendor and OEM requirements.
+ Experience verifying system configurations and block diagrams for complex electrical systems.
+ Proficiency in overseeing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness assembly drawings,…
