Quality Engineer - IBMi

Position Summary

Creates and executes the test design and execution strategy for the engineering department coordinating with business, product, and development teams. Develops comprehensive test cases, scripts, and scenarios based on engineering project requirements, ensuring strong coverage of both functional and non‑functional needs. Executes functional testing, regression testing, and coordinates with business, product, and development teams to clarify expected test outcomes. Owns defect creation, re‑testing after defect fixes, and defect closure.

Administers the test design and execution strategy for the engineering department; develops test cases, scripts, and scenarios based on engineering project requirements. Analyzes project defect complexities and works closely with quality assurance and development teams to investigate and resolve issues. Applies in‑depth knowledge of quality assurance principles to facilitate detailed test plans and schedules. Communicates with cross‑functional engineering teams to reinforce transparency, effective communication, and alignment with quality expectations.

Completes periodic reviews within the testing environment to ensure configurations match the internal environment. Conducts routine assessments with the engineering team to measure and monitor performance and quality. Configures system applications for test automation efforts to improve coverage, efficiency, and reliability. Coordinates with IT infrastructure teams, database administrators, and system analysts to establish and maintain the testing environment. Designs complex process improvement initiatives using quality assurance methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Conducts User Acceptance Testing.

• 3+ Years of experience in Manual testing in IBMi application/s.
• 3+ Years of Java‑scripting.
• 3+ Years of Automation testing.
• 3+ Years of testing of cloud based applications.
• 3+ Years of testing API and UI.
• 3+ Years of experience querying database for cloud applications.
• 3+ Years of testing utilizing modern‑testing framework.
• 3+ Years of using Jira/Rally or other similar tools.
• 3+ Years of experience in testing Life‑Cycle.

• 1+ Year of using AI agents.
• 1+ Year of experience in testing PBM‑claim processing application.
• 1+ Year of using Playwright framework.
• 1+ Year of using Karate framework.

Bachelor's degree preferred or specialized training/relevant professional qualification/equivalent experience.

The typical pay range for this role is: $72,100.00 – $. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
