Position: Related Problems (SRP) Stress Engineer

Service Related Problems (SRP) Stress Engineer

Location:

Wichita, KS and Richardson, TX (2 locations // onsite)

Experience:

5 - 18 years

Responsibilities:
  • Perform static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis for aircraft structures using classical hand calculation.
  • Understand load paths and extract loads from Finite Element Models.
  • Determine critical failure modes and perform analysis to ensure structural integrity.
  • Analyze aircraft primary/secondary metallic structures.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional groups including Design, Materials & Process Engineering.
  • Participate in review meetings with customers and SMEs.
  • Generate Engineering Stress Reports which establish compliance and safety.
  • Interact with customers to understand the scope of work and methodology required to meet customer expectations.
  • Required Qualifications:
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Aerospace Industry as a Stress Engineer.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of stress analysis of aero structures.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more Finite Element Post Processing Tools (e.g. PATRAN).
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in providing technical solutions from conceptual to detailed design stage.
  • Use of Finite Element Methods for load extraction and to solve complex engineering problems.
  • Experience in performing fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Boeing standards and tools.
  • Working knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations, Title 14, Part 25.
  • Experience with PATRAN, NASTRAN, FEMAP.
  • Experience in CATIA V5, Enovia.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • US National/GC holder/H1B/H4 EAD/F1 OPT (with experience).
