Overview
Principal Systems Engineer – Cybersecurity role onsite in Richardson, TX. Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility for a security clearance. Relocation assistance is available.
What You Will Do- Implement security improvements by assessing current customer requirements and environment; evaluate trends; develop security architecture and requirements, and design architecture artifacts, plans, and policies.
- Support and develop Risk Management Framework (RMF) assessment documentation and conduct cybersecurity controls validation testing resulting in the Authorization to Operate (ATO) decision.
- Perform analysis on cybersecurity collected data and test results.
- Conduct cybersecurity audits and perform compliance evaluations to ensure appropriate implementation and continuous compliance of the security posture of the product system.
- Collaborate with engineering disciplines to minimize cybersecurity threats to the deployed designs/products.
You will develop niche skills to become a more effective Cybersecurity Engineer and leader, pursuing growth toward roles such as Sr. Principal Systems / Cybersecurity Engineer and potentially Tech Fellow or Chief Security Engineer. You will gain knowledge to become a subject matter expert (SME) in cybersecurity with exposure to diverse businesses and products in a dynamic field.
Qualifications You Must Have- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD TOP SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience with security features and/or vulnerability analysis of various operating systems as defined by Intelligence agencies.
- Experience with Systems Engineering requirements and specifications.
- Experience implementing DoD and Federal IA certification, accreditation, and authorization processes, IA controls and developing and maintaining associated documentation; experience with the NIST RMF (NIST SP 800-53 and 800-37).
- Experience with security systems and cybersecurity engineering involving embedded systems and RTOS, hardware/software, and network configurations (stand-alone and LAN/WAN).
- DoD 8140 SSE Intermediate or Advanced Level Compliant Certification (e.g., CASP+, CISSP).
- Experience with Anti-Tamper requirements and NSA High Assurance (Type
1) certification processes. - Experience with Program Protection Plans (PPP) DoDI 5000.02 and DoDI 5200.39.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems security, network protocols, Linux security, and hardware-based security (HSM, TPM, Secure Boot).
- Experience with cloud and/or virtualization technologies and IT/network security administration across UNIX, Windows, Red Hat Linux, and Cisco environments.
- Experience with security toolsets including anti-virus, vulnerability assessment, HIDS/NIDS, MFA, and SIEM.
