Qorvo is seeking an experienced Analog Design Engineer to join the Defense & Aerospace High-Power RF Solutions (HPRF) product development team. This engineer will lead the design and development of circuit card assemblies (CCAs) for solid-state power amplifiers (SSPAs) and other high‑power RF systems. This role is responsible for the electrical design, analysis, integration, verification, and production support of complex mixed‑signal and analog hardware operating in demanding environments.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in RF and analog electronics, power conversion, and board‑level design. This engineer will work closely with RF, systems, mechanical, thermal, firmware, test, and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle from concept development through production and sustainment.
- Design and develop analog, RF, and mixed‑signal CCAs for SSPA and high‑power RF amplifier products
- Design and integrate circuits including RF amplifier bias and control circuits, GaN power amplifier support circuitry, power conditioning and power distribution networks, RF detector and monitoring circuits, health monitoring & fault protection circuits, and high‑current analog interfaces
- Perform circuit simulations and analyses using tools such as LTspice, PSpice, or equivalent to ensure performance, robustness, and reliability
- Collaborate with PCB layout engineers to optimize RF grounding and isolation, high‑current power distribution, thermal management, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC performance
- Support RF subsystem integration and bring‑up activities.
- 5+ years of experience in analog or mixed‑signal electronic design.
- Experience designing and developing Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs).
- Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware issues at the board and system level.
- Strong understanding of analog circuit design, high‑current electronic circuits, signal conditioning and measurement circuits, and EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.
- Knowledge of signal integrity analysis, power integrity analysis, environmental qualification testing, reliability engineering, design for manufacturability (DFM), and design for testability (DFT).
- Hands‑on laboratory experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers (VNAs), signal generators, and power meters.
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
Education and Experience
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 5 or more years of experience.
- MS in Electrical Engineering (Analog Design focus) with 3 or more years of experience.
- PhD in Electrical Engineering with Analog Design focus.
