The Operations Quality Engineer will provide quality engineering support to Raytheon programs to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements.
What You Will Do- Use critical thinking resources and methods to improve product design; minimize inspection; resolve manufacturing defects/problems; complete such specialized quality functions as data preparation, analyses, and reporting.
- Perform product and process audits for compliance to various standards and product requirements.
- Coordinate resolution of nonconforming material with Engineering and Production Control teams.
- Support Optical process improvements initiatives.
- Support implementation of product Quality Control Plans
- Lead and support root cause and corrective action activities
- Act on all applicable material, product and equipment alerts to prevent impact to product reliability using the nonconformance and/or purge process
- Manage dropped and damaged hardware processing and incident reporting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
- Typically requires a BS degree in STEM, Science, Technology, Engineering or Math an two (2) years of experience in optical fabrication, inspection and handling.
- In lieu of a STEM degree, a minimum six years (6) years of related optical manufacturing experience.
- Experience with ISO
9001 Quality Management systems. - Previous experience with First Article Inspections (AS9102)
- Experience interpreting and inspecting to Optical technical procedures, specifications, standards, and related engineering and manufacturing documents.
- Basis of Estimating experience – Proposal support and knowledge and budget estimating
- U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with team members, customers, and suppliers
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and apply decision-making skills with appropriate supervisory intervention
- Perform autonomous, self-guided process and product assessments, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action
- Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize.
- Familiar with Six Sigma methodologies [e.g. Kaizen, Lean, Define/Measure/Analyze/Improve/Control (DMAIC), and Define/Measure/Analyze/Design/Verify (DMADV)] and resources [e.g. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Capability Analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)].
- Experience with GD&T, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing measurement resources and practices.
- Experience working in an aerospace-related manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with Project Management techniques
- Familiarity with microelectronic fab, manufacturing and assembly
