Staff Product Engineer

Qorvo supplies innovative semiconductor solutions that make a better world possible. This Product Engineer will lead new product development activities from early prototype through production release, serving as a key technical partner across design, process, manufacturing, test and quality teams. The role will focus on data-driven problem solving, yield improvement, product performance optimization and successful release of high-quality RF/Microwave semiconductor products.

Responsibilities include managing development projects from start to production release, serving as the central technical resource for design, process, manufacturing, test and quality for assigned products, generating required Product Engineering deliverables during the New Product Development and maintaining throughout product lifetime, employing appropriate Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles to reduce variability in product performance, supporting Test Engineering activities to debug, validate and release production test hardware/software, compiling and analyzing data using common statistical techniques and effectively presenting key results along with recommended actions, generating Yield Plans that develop roadmaps to improve yield and reduce cost, engaging in group problem-solving and process improvement projects.

Required Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, 8+ years of experience or an equivalent amount of advanced education and experience as a Product Engineer or related experience, experience leading projects and/or efforts involving diverse, cross-functional teams, strong attention to detail, self-motivation and the ability to achieve results with minimal supervision, team-oriented approach with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, time management skills sufficient to balance multiple high-priority activities, comfortable making presentations to internal and external customers, understanding of RF/Microwave theory and semiconductor physics, knowledge of typical RF test equipment and common test methodologies, expertise in statistical methods and common statistical software such as JMP, Spotfire and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications include a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, experience in a III/V semiconductor manufacturing environment, familiarity with standard problem-solving methods such as 8D or 5-Whys, familiarity with Six Sigma or comparable continuous improvement methods.
