What You Will Do
As a Mechanical Engineer at Collins Aerospace Mission Systems Integrated Strategic Solutions (ISSE), you will participate in the design, development, and test of electronic equipment and integration kits for communication systems on military aircraft and transportable platforms. The selected candidate will learn to work closely with Systems, Electrical, and Manufacturing staff to ensure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product's lifecycle.
- Participate in design and development activities, including implementation of specifications and development of performance or maintenance requirements.
- Learn engineering design processes to contribute to designs for components, parts, subassemblies, and assemblies.
- Participate in the execution of tests for systems, subsystems, and components.
- Participate in the analysis of test results in relation to design and test objectives.
- May evaluate and analyze various mechanical products to determine their cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Evaluate installations and recommend design modifications.
- Communicate effectively in a cross-functional team.
- Some travel may be required.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Solid Works
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Word)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and make sound, well-informed decisions.
- Possession of an active U.S. Government issued Top Secret clearance

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.
-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
