As the Quality Engineer, you will lead quality engineering initiatives that improve manufacturing processes, product quality, and customer satisfaction. You will drive continuous improvement efforts, champion compliance with industry standards, mentor engineering teams, and serve as the technical authority on quality systems, methodologies, and best practices.
What will you do?- Serve as the site project leader for quality engineering initiatives and technical problem-solving activities.
- Apply advanced quality engineering tools and methodologies, including:
- Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Weibull Analysis
- Commonality Analysis
- Act as Site Subject Matter Expert for quality systems and applications, including:
- APQP
- MSA
- eFMEA
- eSPC
- 8D
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Problem Solving methodologies
- Lead and support quality engineering best practices throughout the site
- Communicate key Quality Engineering metrics to regional teams and stakeholders
- Drive standardization of manufacturing process quality standards
- Support Business Unit Coordinators with process reliability, capability assessments, and project assumptions
- Lead process improvement activities supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives
- Coach, mentor, and train members of the Quality Engineering team
- Ensure alignment and standardization of site processes with global and regional quality requirements
- Communicate and share quality engineering best practices with regional and global quality organizations
- Champion compliance with applicable quality standards and regulatory requirements, including:
- ISO 9001
- IATF 16949
- AS9100
- VDA 6.3
- ISO 13485
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and security requirements
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline required
- 8+ years of experience in Quality Engineering in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience applying advanced quality tools and methodologies in a production setting
- Proven success leading continuous improvement, quality enhancement, and cost reduction initiatives
- Experience supporting new product introduction and manufacturing process development
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered
- Strong knowledge of quality engineering tools and methodologies, including DOE, MSA, APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, and structured problem-solving techniques
- Expertise in manufacturing quality systems and process control methodologies
- Ability to analyze complex technical data and identify opportunities for improvement
- Strong financial and business acumen, including understanding of planning, delivery, and P&L considerations
- Understanding of organizational strategies and how site capabilities support business objectives
- Ability to lead projects with significant scope and technical complexity
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and change management capabilities
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive organizational alignment
- Master's degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), or related field
- Minitab (statistical analysis) including Capability Analysis
- Guage R&R
- Lean Silver Certification
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
- Experience working in highly regulated industries such as Automotive, Aerospace, Medical Device, or related sectors
- Experience with global quality systems and multi-site manufacturing environments
