OverviewAccountants make a positive impact on the finance team and the firm by collaborating with Finance team members in simplifying complex financial activity into clear, accurate insights, strengthening the integrity of our reporting, and building smarter processes that help the entire organization operate with confidence and speed. The Accountant reports to the Manager, General Ledger.
Primary Responsibilities- Maintain assigned areas of the general ledger, including monthly close activities, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and the preparation of supporting schedules.
- Assist in developing, refining, and implementing scalable processes and tools that improve the speed, accuracy, and consistency of accounting workflows, including automation or system enhancements where appropriate.
- Collaborate with team to determine proper accounting treatment for complex or unusual transactions, using relevant U.S. GAAP guidance, company policy, and the underlying business purpose to ensure accurate and compliant reporting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, financial analyses, and internal reporting, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and alignment with cross-functional inputs (FP&A, operations, tax, etc.).
- Collaborate with Finance team members and other departments to understand business activities and determine accounting implications, providing clear explanations, documentation, and recommendations to support decision‑making and audit readiness.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a financial environment, highly preferred.
- Proficient with accounting and finance tools and concepts, including ERP and reporting systems, and MS Excel.
- Good analytical and problem‑solving skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and ability to question assumptions constructively.
- Good communication skills and ability to present complex data in a clear, concise manner.
- Able to maintain a sedentary position for up to 90% of the work day.
- Able to type and to grasp, grip, push and pull file drawers and doors.
- Able to walk and climb stairs or use elevator to coordinate with other departments.
