Financial Controller

Optex Systems, Inc., founded in 1987 and based in Richardson, Texas, is a leading manufacturer of optical sighting systems and assemblies for U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) applications. Our products are integral to a variety of military land vehicles, such as Abrams and Bradley fighting vehicles, as well as Light Armored, Armored Security, and Stryker vehicles. Additionally, we produce periscopes, rifle sights, surveillance equipment, and night vision optical assemblies, serving military services and prime contractors.

This is a full-time, on-site Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role located in Richardson, TX. The CFO will oversee all financial operations, develop financial strategies, prepare financial statements and reports, and ensure regulatory compliance. Day-to-day tasks include managing budgets, analyzing financial data, leading financial planning efforts, collaborating with executive leadership on business strategy, and providing insights to maximize financial performance and organizational growth.

• Strong expertise in Financial Planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategy development
• Expert knowledge in filing 10Q, 10K and associated SEC regulatory requirements for a publically traded company is required.
• Proficiency in managing Financial Statements and handling Financial Reporting
• Requires extensive experience in DoD/Manufacturing
• Must have strong Cost Accounting experience.
• Must be a U. S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Comprehensive knowledge of Finance principles and practices
• Exceptional Analytical Skills for evaluating complex financial data and making informed decisions
• Proven leadership and decision-making capabilities
• Experience in Net Suites a big plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with teams and stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in the defense sector is required.
