Brief Overview Of Position

This function is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely release of collateral associated with loans, particularly when obligations have been satisfied. The role involves processing collateral releases for paid-off loans, as well as handling release requests that are not directly tied to loan payoff activity. Responsibilities also extend to reviewing and processing exception-clearing documentation, ensuring that any outstanding exceptions are resolved and that loan records accurately reflect the current status of collateral and related documentation.

Through these activities, the function helps mitigate operational risk, maintain regulatory compliance, and support a positive customer experience.

In support of the release process, third-party vendor services associated with the loan are reviewed and canceled when appropriate, and all necessary release documentation is prepared to facilitate completion of the transaction.

The position requires regular communication and collaboration with internal business units, title companies, attorneys, and other stakeholders to ensure that collateral release requests are handled efficiently and in compliance with applicable requirements. Once prepared, release documents are submitted for recording with the appropriate county or state authorities to formally remove liens and secure interests.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Execution

  • Execute and oversee daily operational activities for assigned banking functions.
  • Review and process complex transactions, exceptions, and servicing requests.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support high-risk or high-value transaction reviews and approvals.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews and validation checks
  • Monitor operational queues, volumes, aging, and service metrics.

Risk & Controls

  • Execute and support operational controls and monitoring activities.
  • Identify operational risks, control gaps, and process vulnerabilities
  • Support remediation efforts for audit findings, compliance issues, and operational incidents.
  • Assist with RCSA activities, procedure updates, control documentation, issue mgmt, operational loss event tracking
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and bank policies.

Process Improvement & Transformation

  • Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, reduce manual work, and enhance client's experience.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process mapping exercises.
  • Support implementation of automation, workflow enhancements, AI-assisted operations, straight-through process (STP)
  • Assist in documenting current state and future state operational workflows.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent banking operations experience may substitute for degree requirements

Experience

  • Typically, 4-7 years of banking or financial services operations experience.
  • Experience handling complex operational processes and escalations.
  • Exposure to regulatory and operational risk environments preferred.
