Our client in Richardson, TX is seeking a strong, hands-on Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) who combines operational leadership with clinical expertise. This role is ideal for a pharmacy leader who can actively manage workflow while also driving business performance, compliance, and team development. This is an in office, direct hire opportunity.

Pharmacist-in-Charge RoleThe ideal Pharmacist-in-Charge brings a balance of operational pharmacy experience (approximately 60%) and business/strategic leadership capability (approximately 40%). The PIC must be comfortable stepping into daily pharmacy operations when needed while maintaining full compliance accountability.
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight- Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge in accordance with all state and federal laws.
- Ensure full compliance with pharmacy regulations, including controlled substance management.
- Maintain accurate records and oversee regulatory reporting.
- Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures for procurement, storage, distribution, and disposal of medications.
- Lead quality assurance initiatives and monitor medication error reporting.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
Oversee daily pharmacy workflow including:
- Order entry
- Order verification
- Packaging and dispensing
- Formulary management
Quality assurance:
Ensure accurate and efficient dispensing processes. Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement system improvements. Participate in staffing plans and scheduling to maintain appropriate coverage. Take routine on-call responsibilities. Execute operational plans aligned with company growth initiatives.
- Provide leadership oversight across multiple pharmacy locations.
- Directly manage pharmacy teams and promote accountability and performance.
- Foster a collaborative, professional, and inclusive work environment.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance development.
- Promote strong communication and teamwork across departments.
- Monitor and evaluate performance metrics including script volume, labor costs, and profitability.
- Analyze operational data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Execute strategic initiatives while maintaining day-to-day operational excellence.
- Accept ownership and accountability for achieving operational and financial goals.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm
D from an accredited institution - Current, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of practice
- 2–3 years of pharmacy operations experience
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacy management experience
- Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Experience in long-term care (LTC) pharmacy preferred
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to interpret operational and financial performance data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- Ability to make independent decisions and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable balancing leadership responsibilities with hands‑on pharmacy work
- Strong workflow knowledge and operational judgment
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams effectively
- High level of professionalism and accountability
- Frequent interaction with staff, patients, and external partners
- May require managing competing priorities and workflow interruptions
- Monday–Friday, 9 am–5/6 pm
- No weekends or on-call responsibilities
